There are a variety of varsity sports teams that are active at Ripon College, even if the turnout at different games isn't always the greatest. There is usually some student support, but games like Homecoming aren't as well-attended as you might think. There is a lot of involvement in intramural sports by both students and faculty. Faculty and staff will either form their own team or play on teams with students. There are also stand-alone tournaments that take place for racquetball, kickball, ultimate Frisbee, and arm wrestling. Then, several times a week, yoga and Zumba are offered in the dance studio. The cost of all intramurals is free and loads of fun! There are also some club teams; the club games are always fun to watch and generally attract a decent amount of players for each team.
The athletic facilities are easy to find and very accessible. Some updates have been made and some more could be used, but overall, they are clean and well-staffed. There is nothing to be embarrassed about when it comes to Ripon's facilities, and the school is always working to make improvements. For example, the cycling team won a Pepsi Refresh Grant and used the money to build a mountain bike trail so that they can practice at home. The trail was built right in Ripon's backyard, the Ceresco Prairie, and it is open for all to use!
