Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

RMU goes above and beyond to prepare students for future careers, with career fairs, career expos, and the never-ending help from the Career Center. RMU’s ColonialTRAK is also incredibly helpful, and even after graduating, students are allowed to use it, just as they are allowed to use the Career Center. RMU has very high placement rates for alumni (94 percent for undergraduates). And the RMU Web site states that “one of the ultimate outcomes for an institution like RMU, whose curriculum is centered upon applied knowledge, is the willingness of employers to hire its graduates.”

RMU has about 5,000 students, so it's not a huge campus, but a good enough size to meet plenty of people and have a good time. It’s not overwhelming, but it’s also not underwhelming. The amount of time professors take with helping students is a huge advantage. There is personal attention that comes along with the 16-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio. Classes are not lecture halls; they are interactive and group discussions are always encouraged. Overall, when asked, the majority of students like most everything about RMU, though they would change a few things here and there. The major complaint is that there isn't enough to do on campus, which can take a toll on the social aspect of the school. Regardless, on the whole, RMU is a great school with great professors and atmosphere. As the campus continues to grow, so do the opportunities for the students.
