Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The academics at Rochester College are competitive with other mainstream college and university settings. Professors will typically have a master's degree or above. Several of the professors have had backgrounds in the private sector as well as having other careers part-time. Some professors teach classes on multiple RC campuses or for other schools also.

Given the relatively small student body at RC and the generally smaller class size, there is increased potential for personal attention and individualized help. Select classes are available online as well as in-classroom.The professors are genial and make themselves available to help students. There are also tutoring services, often handled by upperclassmen and graduate students, available at the ACE study lab.

Uncertain & Unsatisfied

Honestly, I've never really known where I want to go with my education or career. I feel as if my teachers do the best they can to steer me in the right direction using the information that I provide them with, but it's difficult to do more than brainstorm when almost everything is a possibility and nothing is certain. I do wish that there were more options for careers at Rochester College. I feel as if there were a couple instances where I thought maybe I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but no methods by which I could pursue my interests unless I added another year or so to my education or transferred out, which would cause me to lose a large amount of credits.

For traditional students, an online class will last approximately 16 weeks. For students in the Center for Extended Learning (CEL) program, an online class will be approximately 9 weeks.
