Rochester College's policies on student behavior and codes of ethics are based in Christian philosophy. The administration's position is that it helps maintain student safety and provides an atmosphere that is conducive for the student body to achieve their highest potential, graduate, and become productive, moral and ethical citizens. There is an assortment of codes governing styles of dress, language use, academic performance, and other behaviors.Sexual modesty is encouraged. Premarital sex is neither endorsed nor condoned among unmarried students.

Undergraduate students are expected to commit to chapel worship services at least once a week, which is recorded and monitored. Every full-time traditional student is required to participate in the Rochester College Chapel/Convocation series (RCC). This includes assorted opportunities for students, such as community events, small groups, and public service initiatives. Participation in these events is monitored. This is a graded element for students.

Strict Rules

Because Rochester College is a christian college they have some pretty strict rules in the handbook. No excessive PDA, no sex on or off campus, and a pretty strict dress code. I see people doing what they want and haven't heard of many people being reprimanded but there are rules.

Very High Standards

We have a strict Christian policy at Rochester College and it helps keep the students safe. When agreeing to attend school here we sign a contract saying we will not drink, do drugs, do anything illegal, or have premarital sex while a student at the school.

Visitation Policies

For undergraduates, there are strict curfews throughout the week when students have to be on-campus and/or in their dorm rooms. Late-night visitations by the opposite sex is prohibited.

  • Rochester College is a tobacco-free campus. The only exception to this is that RN (registered nurse) or BSN (bachelor of science in nursing) students are allowed to smoke/use tobacco inside of their personal vehicles but not elsewhere on campus.
  • Charges and fines may be assessed to a student’s account based on the following violations: excessive noise, failure to clean, improper facilities use, late or improper check-out, lost or improper key usage, room change fees, room/facility damage, roommate preparations, screen tampering or removal, unassembled furniture upon check out, etc.
