Rochester Hills is a northern suburb of Detroit. There are a number of attractions nearby in the metropolitan Detroit area, including a myriad of local restaurants, nightclubs, and pubs. Potential Rochester students should be reminded, however, that Rochester College has a strict prohibition on alcohol. Students are not allowed to bring it on campus, and they are expected to respect state law concerning the consumption of alcoholic beverages. Sanctions exist for students who are caught with alcohol or discovered to be intoxicated.
Rochester students should be mindful of these rules whenever they enter an establishment that sells alcohol. For undergraduates living on campus, there is a definite curfew, and other students who live off campus are expected to respect "lights-out" time on campus. Restrictions are looser for married students and upperclassmen, but they are still expected to respect the campus environment.
