Could Have Been Easier

Couldn't get as much money as I would have liked, and wasn't really giving an option on how to get more money. Some things were left confusing, and was not sure exactly what was needed to do at times.

Okay

Financial aid does not always keep track of holds on account, or updating payment states. The financial aid package is always easy to understand. Sometimes they lose your paperwork.

Advice on Financial Aid

Students are highly encouraged to do independent research on scholarships, fellowships, and grants that may apply to their respective academic careers. Everyone should keep track of their financial aid officer's name, campus address, phone number, and email in case a scholarship organization needs to get in contact with them.

Students are encouraged to interact with their financial aid counselor on a recurring basis. All students should be aware of any pending charges or past due charges on their accounts to avoid being blocked from attending classes due to an outstanding balance for the previous semester.

Work-study is also an option for students, especially those who live on-campus. It is a way to build work experience while also earning money to pay off tuition debt.
