Gracie’s is the main dining hall for freshmen, and a specified number of meals are allotted in their dining plans. Most students vehemently complain about having to eat at Gracie’s so much during their first year. Many students rarely opt to eat at Gracie’s more than a few times after their first year. Even students who remain loyal patrons at Gracie’s will tell you that the food isn’t bad, just monotonous. The food at Gracie’s is served in a buffet-style, and it’s all-you-can-eat, but students normally find the same foods (or very similar) on the tables nearly every day. The addition of The Crossroads, Sandella’s, and Beanz has given students more options to choose from. Many of the eateries on campus accept meal options, debit, or Flex points as payment. Java’s and Henry’s, however, only accept Flex or cash. Students can put money onto their Flex account at the Bursars office. This money can then be used at the bookstore, any of the food establishments on campus, Subway, the Pita Pit, and any of the vending machines on campus. Debit can be used at most dining halls and in the vending machines only, and it comes as a part of most meal plans. It is important to note that Flex money will roll over to the next quarter, but debit will not.
Overall, the campus food selection at RIT leaves students with plenty of options. There isn’t much that you can’t get on campus by way of food, and (get this) most of it is actually edible, although many freshmen will tell you that this does not apply to Gracie’s. The main complaint is the hours that the halls are open. With the wide variety of eateries on campus, it can be confusing to students which restaurant is open at what time. Students also tend to complain about the lack of a 24-hour eating spot on campus. The fact that there are three markets available on campus is also a great advantage. While the prices at the markets are a bit high, it is possible to use meal options and debit. So, until their debit points run out, students don’t mind the prices as much.

Campus Dining at Rochester Institute of Technology

RIT Food
RIT has many dining halls. Some are really good, and the other are just okay. Gracie's is one of the dining halls, that us freshmen go to the most. It is very repetitive and not my favorite. They tend to have very greasy food and it gets really boring. Brick City and Commons are among my favorite dining halls to go eat. Overall the dining halls are pretty good in my opinion.

Campus Dining = Solid
Its not that bad. Lots of different varieties, and is really good for campus food. Meal options/plan is pretty balanced and is pretty flexible to anywhere on campus

Not Worth the Price
I think the meal selections have progressively gotten better, however, the price of food it just ridiculous. Being in college is expensive enough as it is, and the prices of meals/meal plans do not help.
