You don't need transportation on campus because it is a small school but you will need a car to go off campus.

It's a small school in the city so it is not easily accessible.

You have to have your own transportation, that of a friend, or call a taxi/ride the bus.

A little expensive but many options to choose from.

Rockhurst provides a great learning experience. Class sizes are small, and the professors actually get to know the students.

I am in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program, and it has been a great experience. The professors are very helpful and friendly, and everyone in the program is very close.

Kansas City has many housing options. Just a few minutes away they have residential houses which offer more privacy, or you can live in apartments in the heart of the city. It is more expensive to live alone, but cost overall is on the lower end compared to most big cities.

Kansas City is the best of both worlds. You can drive 20 min and feel like you are in the middle of nature, or right down the street to find an exciting nightlife and shopping. The Plaza has great food options, and The Power and Light district and Wesport are just a few minutes away; all of which are constantly providing free live music and art fairs.

Seems to be high on student life. There are a lot of activities and social clubs.

The parking for cars is sufficient but the cost of a parking pass is expensive.

Health & Safety:
I have feet safe during the day but at night it can be a little shady.

Rockhurst is very strict with the campus police always patrolling the area and making sure the students follow the student code of conduct. First time offenses get written up with usually a fine and a consequence of an essay or a class and also are normally put on conduct probation for 6 months. From there on the consequences get worse if the students do not follow the code of conduct.

Rockhurst has many different students at the campus who hold different values and beliefs. Everyone is open to others with different religions and values. However there is still a majority of white people.

Some professors are very helpful and knowledgeable during class and willing to help students out. However, other teachers make class very difficult and do not offer much help because they are not around the campus enough to help. In those classes it is difficult to get a decent grade even with non-stop studying for the classes. Also, in some classes the tests are confusing because with the answers that are possible, the answers that I chose are because I can give a good explanation as to why I give it. If teachers want more students to get decent grades, then I think they should make the classes and the tests less difficult and make it so the problems are clear enough for the correct answer. The classes are helpful for the career I want to get into because most of the time I can relate the information to what I need for my future.

Restaurants and shopping centers are really close by the school. The Plaza it withing walking distance, when the weather is nice, and the restaurants are cheap and nice. Great food!

Parking around the campus without the school permit can be serious. You get a ticket and if its not paid within a week, it increases every month. My advice is to have your parking permit where the security is able to see it!

I received the aid I needed very easily. However there were a few loans I was not aware of. I am sure this is my fault but I did not realize I was taking any loans but it turned out after graduation I had borrowed about 5000 in all. I think perhaps clearer communication is needed.

The only strictness I encountered was when I received a parking ticket for not having a parking pass in my window. The pass was indeed in the window the officer did not tilt his head to see it. I have a tint brow on my car so this must have led him to believe it wasn't there. I tried to appeal the ticket but there is not such process. You pay the fee or it gets increased every month.

Luckily the campus is small enough that parking off campus isn't a 30 minute walk. There were not enough spots for the number of cars when I went to Rockhurst. However after my graduation they built a new parking garage that may have solved this problem completely.

At Rockhurst University, there are great Business, Nursing, and Education programs. However, there are other curriculums available, but not as up to par as those three categories.

I am in a sorority now and I love it. We get involved on and off campus. We have friendly competition among greek life, but we all get along also. I feel like if you don't join greek life at Rockhurst you won't be shunned, but you will be missing out on great experiences.

I am at Rockhurst University and I love the campus life. The class sizes are an average 30 and the teachers are flexible. However, the grading is very hard for many teachers. You get out what you put in.

I don't receive a lot of financial aid due to my parents income. However, I pay for everything besides tuition and my dad is no longer helping pay. I need much more guidance than I am getting.

Located in the heart of Kansas City, there is always plenty to do. Rockhurst is minutes away from the Plaza and a few blocks from Power and light district
