I am in a sorority now and I love it. We get involved on and off campus. We have friendly competition among greek life, but we all get along also. I feel like if you don't join greek life at Rockhurst you won't be shunned, but you will be missing out on great experiences.

Coming from being a member of Greek life at the University of Missouri, Rockhurst University offers little national PHA sororities. However, I have been told that just about everyone joins a sorority here, so in that aspect the Greek community is strong.

To Go Greek or O Not- That Is the Question – There are four Fraternities and three sororities that are in panhellinic. There is one that doesn't have that status. All of the groups work really well together and get along. Until Greek Week, which is quite fierce. However, people do not have to be in greek life at all. many choose not to and our campus is not in any way seperated in the fact. There are no official greek houses though. All in all Greek life is a great thing but is not required to be someone in this University

Percentage of students who are in Greek life is high. All are clique-y. However, the school is a size where they have to learn to get along, and do.

To Be or Not to Be Greek – A majority of the student body is Greek. This isn't a bad thing, but the whole pledging process can be annoying to students that are not Greek. The Greek students do seem to have a better social life than Non- Greeks but it really depends on what kind of person you are. I did not rush, and I am very satisfied with my social life and a lot of my friends are in fraternities and/or sororities, I am still included in the parties and things like that so I feel like I'm not missing out on too much. Other Non-Greeks I've talked to feel like they should have joined a sorority or fraternity mainly because they want to experience the sisterhood/brotherhood feeling. Greeks have houses, but they really aren't that nice. They all have a basement where the partying usually goes on. Overall, the houses are not as nice as the Greek houses in movies! Some people view Greeks as annoying and stuck up, but the majority of Rockhurst students can get along with each other whether or not they are Greek or Non-Greek.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
