College Prowler Take
This small liberal arts school deserves its reputation for academic excellence due to the quality of its faculty. The school’s small size facilitates close interaction between students and faculty. At Rollins, no student is just a number. Teachers generally know not only your name, but your major, plans after college, and academic strengths. They are always available to help or simply to talk. Of course, there are always exceptions. Some teachers are simply boring, a few exhibit lack of respect towards students, and occasionally you hear of teachers who really don’t teach at all, but hand out materials and expect work turned in. However, the majority of professors at Rollins are here because they have a genuine desire to impart knowledge in their field, and this shows in their enthusiasm and dedication to teaching.
Most students will agree that Rollins professors are exceptional; which is perhaps the greatest strength of the college. Complaints are common, however, concerning the limited majors offered, especially in the areas of business and performing arts. A considerable number of students create their own major for this reason. Rollins students often find the workload here relatively heavy, but certainly doable. Teachers tend to be flexible as well, or at least willing to take student’s concerns into account. Overall, the college at least meets and generally succeeds the expectations of entering students for academic quality.

The teachers are great. They are liberal, while most of the students appear to be more conservative, so it’s a nice change. The classes are all interesting, I find, and the teachers seem passionate about their work, as well as very easy to get in touch with. |

Most all of the teachers are very good and unique. The classes are interesting, but it is a good idea to ask other students what classes they have enjoyed and what they would recommend. It is a small campus, so use that to your advantage. |

I have been thoroughly impressed with the faculty at Rollins. They are always available for help and dedicated to really inspiring learning. I have no complaints concerning the teachers, but I sometimes feel the relatively limited number of majors (compared to larger universities) restrains students. Some of my friends have had to transfer because their major was unavailable here. |

The professors are awesome; no complaints there. They are actually dedicated to facilitating learning and not, ‘this is what I do so I can do my research.’ Even the gen ed classes turn out to be good. My sociology class was awesome, and I’ve had some other surprises, like canoe class (and no sarcasm here, this was something that I looked forward to). |
