Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students at Rollins don't typically complain about the food on campus. The meal plan at Rollins is good for all on-campus restaurants, as well as Domino's Pizza. The main dining option at Rollins is located in the Cornell Campus Center: the Marketplace. This hall is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and though the specials vary from day to day, students can count on the salad bar, sushi bar, and multiple soup options. The Marketplace closes in between lunch and dinner, and for the night around 8 p.m. Underneath the Marketplace is the C-Store, the campus grocery store. The C-Store sells all essential snack items and also has a sandwich bar with daily specials. Even after the C-Store closes, The Grille stays open until 1:45 a.m. The Grille is notorious for its greasy late-night snack food. Beware: The Grille is also notorious for making students gain the Freshman 15.

One thing students should watch out for is the food prices on campus. The Rollins meal plan puts money on your R-Card each semester, and if students don't pay attention, they run out of money quickly and have to start mooching off friends or call home to Mom and Dad. Although stocking up on groceries at the C-Store is convenient, it is also costly. A small container of fruit will cost you anywhere between $4 and $6 in the C-Store! Students are much better off hitting the grocery store or 7-Eleven now and then for food.

Pricey and Not That Good

The food is really expensive in regards to value, considering you can walk over to Briar Patch or Panera and pay the same amount for something twenty times better. The food in itself is decent but a waste of money, unfortunately the meal plan is not optional.

Not Your Average Meal Plan

Instead of designating a specific amount of meals that one may eat per day or per week, Rollins implemented a "debit card" system which gives you a specific dollar allowance ($2,400 per semester) to use on food. This version of the meal plan is extremely convenient because it works on all the campus dining locations including the C-store (the convenient store) downstairs by the Grille. The variety of eating options range from the campus center food to late night meals (until 2am daily) at the Grille, and even to Dominos, which delivers until 3am!

Amazingly Delicious

There are always tons of options for food, some food stations stay consistent with what they have but the other ones change daily and the food is so good. Since the school is so small the only other major food place in campus aside from the cafeteria is the Grille which is extremely popular with students. The best part about the meal plan is that you can use it in the grocery store on campus as well.
