Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Rollins is pretty laid-back about most things. Campus Safety does not try to get kids in trouble, and they generally won’t get you in trouble unless they have to for some reason or another. Rollins is not a dry campus, so once you turn 21, you are allowed to drink freely. There are exceptions to this rule for sorority and fraternity houses, which remain dry even when you are 21 years of age. Also, the freshman and sophomore dorms are dry since the students living in these dorms are under the age of 21. If students are behaving unaccordingly, they might get a written citation from Campus Safety or an RA. If you get more than two written citations, you are forced to have a meeting with the school, and the punishment is decided from there.

Police in Winter Park are pretty strict since they are bored and have nothing else to do but break up college house parties. The police won’t come into dorms or other Rollins buildings unless someone calls them. Campus Safety, on the other hand, has permission to roam about wherever they please on campus. Police will often break up parties and make people leave, but nothing else will happen. Rollins, for the most part, is a relaxed campus. Its main goal is to keep students safe—not to get them in trouble.

Loves to Give Out Tickets

I received a ticket the second week of school for parking on the wrong floor of the parking garage, not even a warning.

Not Strict If You Don't Get Caught

Just be careful what you do and where you do it and you wont have any problems.

Pretty Strict

The campus is a dry campus and so that means anyone caught with alcohol or drugs gets into a lot of trouble, especially in the freshman dorms. In fact most orientation's someone gets arrested..scary stuff. But if there's someone in danger security will help you out & won't punish those who called for help, which is pretty good.
