College Prowler Take
Drugs are certainly a presence on campus, and they are easily obtained. Alcohol is, of course, the most prevalent drug, and as one student put it, “Alcohol is the only source of entertainment on the weekends.” Rollins wasn’t rumored to be ranked the number three party school by Playboy magazine for nothing. Marijuana runs a close second in popularity to alcohol. Pot users range from the typical frat guy to even the best of students that secretly light up in their rooms. Though a lot of people smoke and drink, most students don’t feel pressured to do so, and many people said that they had never really been exposed to the drugs on campus.
During finals, and for some, all year round, students in need of Adderall abound. Adderall dealers find flourishing business at Rollins. Cocaine is widely used on campus, and it’s common to hear the phrase, “It snows at Rollins,” referring to the coke problem. With so much money floating around, some students choose to invest in drugs, and coke is the popular drug of choice.

What can I say? Tell me one college where drugs don’t appear? Personally, and I’m a junior, I’ve never run into a problem with them. |

Alcohol is the only source of entertainment on the weekends. But don’t worry about getting caught—the RAs don’t care, and if they do, the penalties are minimal and not strictly enforced. |

I have heard many rumors but never actually seen anything going on. Many people smoke cigarettes (probably more than 50 percent of the population), weed is talked about, and the rumors are that a surprising number of students do cocaine, but like I said, I’ve never seen it. |
