Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Greek life is definitely a big deal at Rollins. A quarter of students at Rollins is involved with Greek life, which is a lot of students since the student body is so small. There are seven sororities and five fraternities on campus. Greek life is a great way to meet friends and get involved on and off campus. Fraternities and sororities have socials and formals, which are fun events that they look forward to. Greek life is not all about parties, though; fraternities and sororities do a lot of volunteer work, as well. Each Greek organization has a different philanthropy for which they do service work and try to raise money. Most Greeks are very loyal to their organization and consider fellow members to be like family.

Greek life is definitely a dominant force in the social scene at Rollins, but you don’t have to be a part of Greek life to have friends and be social. People in Greek organizations are friends with people in other Greek organizations and also non-Greeks, as well.

Greek Life Is Looked Highly Upon at Rollins.

Greek life is looked at highly at Rollins. There is always a party at one of the frat houses. Sororities are cliched with the typical skinny, blond rich girls dominating them.

30% of Rollins is part of greek life, it doesn't determine who you are at school though. Everyone associates with everyone, whether apart of it or not.

Rush!

If you don't rush you will feel very left out. After I rushed I remember so many girls saying that they wished they had rushed. When you join greek life the parties are just that much more amazing, plus you make more friends through rush than you ever do the whole year. It's a great way to meet more people, and make new friends. Chi Omega just got renovated and their girls are really attractive, but everyone basically has housing except Delta Zetas, Lambda Chi, and Phi Delt.
