Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students almost always feel safe and secure while at Rollins. Winter Park is a very friendly town with very few instances of crime. Everywhere students turn, they can spot a Campus Safety officer while on campus. Campus Safety drives around throughout the day and night on golf carts, and they are just a phone call away if students have any problems whatsoever. Even if students feel uncomfortable walking home alone at night, they can simply call Campus Safety and be sent someone immediately to give them a safe ride home. Rollins is filled with call-boxes for emergency situations. When rare emergency situations occur, campus-wide emails and/or text messages are sent on to the student body warning them of the situation.

Every now and then, there are cases involving theft, but most theft that occurs is from students feeling too comfortable and failing to lock their doors, giving people the opportunity to come in and steal laptops and jewelry. The dorms are well secured, and students need a special card to swipe in and out of their building and rooms. Rollins is a very safe campus, but just like anywhere else, students need to watch out for their belongings and be smart about decisions they make.

Could Not Be Safer

The Rollins College campus is state of the art and the security is likewise. I have never felt in danger, even with taking night classes and having to walk in the dark to my car. The emergency phones are made easily visible with blue lights and they are never more than an eye shot away.

Campus Security/Health Center

Campus security is great, I have had no problems with them at all and unless you do something stupid they will leave you alone. Health center is great but usually booked up and you need an appointment. They are also closed a lot, when I split my chin open and needed stitches they were closed.

Extremely Safe

On campus I have never felt in danger, or trouble, but if something happens guaranteed security will be there in a blink of an eye. While walking around campus you always see staff and security walking around keeping an eye out.
