College Prowler Take

Winter Park and the surrounding Orlando area presents students with restaurant options for nearly every taste. Most popular are the restaurants lining Park Avenue, within a short walk from campus. As many students wrote in, Panera Bread is a popular place for those desiring a filling, healthy, and inexpensive meal. Power House Café and Tropical Smoothies, located on the same street, are frequented by the health conscious, while Park Avenue Pizza, right next door, offers huge slices of pizza at extremely low prices for those looking to indulge. Some of the trendy restaurants for elegant dining, such as 310, are also among the most popular bars on weeknights.

For students that bore easily of campus dining, off-campus dining near Rollins certainly provides a plethora of options. Park Avenue can be expensive, and students without cars often end up spending more than they want to on meals, but for those with transportation, the options are endless. It’s easy for students to settle into frequenting the same restaurants (mostly those close to campus) but taking time to explore less-common venues is well worth it, as you’ll soon discover many new favorites.

The restaurants around campus are...

The restaurants around campus are varied and good. You have Olive Garden, Panera Bread (where many students go for lunch/dinner), Subway, PF Chang’s, the Cheesecake Factory, Outback Steakhouse, Houston’s, Brios Italian Restaurant, Quiznos, and many more! There is such a variety!

There are some good restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory and PF Chang’s nearby. There are some sushi places on Park Avenue and there is Park Avenue Pizza. Though the nice restaurants on Park Avenue are pretty pricey, there are some cute, cheaper places to eat there, as well.

There are a lot of good places near campus that you can walk to. Panera Bread, Tropical Smoothie, or Tijuana Flats are the usual. But there is everything you can think of in the area, which is nice if you are sick of eating at your apartment or on campus.
