Despite the fact that there is no nightlife in Glassboro, it's still a college town, so if you begin having fantasies of the violent variety toward your roommates, maybe off-campus housing is for you. However, for anyone thinking of moving off campus, pricing will be an issue. If you live with your parents, that is one thing, but as expensive as on-campus housing is at Rowan, off-campus housing is just as bad, if not worse. Therefore, many students decide to stay on campus because they would end up paying the same amount to live off campus when factoring in utilities, food, and other independent essentials.
For students who still want to live off campus, no matter the price, there are several apartment buildings available, in addition to homes that students can rent, which are great for hosting parties. However, getting a roommate is generally the only way to afford off-campus housing, which defeats the purpose if you are looking for an alternative to having a roommate.
