I myself being a part of a org, can honestly say Greek life has really take on another level at Rutgers Camden. There are way more orgs and participants than ever before.
Overall the campus is saf, between the three different police looking after you- Delaware port authority, Camden police and Rutgers police-.. But the only problem is the fact that the shuttles only drop you to the parking lot and not to other places in the surrounding area.
Campus housing is regular. The dorms are not special. They are cramped because of the six-students-per dorm policy. Privacy is difficult. Random students walk in and out of your dorm because they are friends with your dorm mates.
Is it worth moving on campus if you live 30min away?
^^ depends on your classes. If you are taking a lot of hard classes, i would move in just because you will probably do a lot better. Also, you get more access to the nightlife of philly and house parties which are less than mediocre.
Night life at Rutgers Camden requires that you go into Philadelphia. That's where most of the night scene is, as in destinations, restaurants, and sight-seeing. There's not much around this campus, other than the fraternity/sorority parties, which are only for drinking and getting wild.
The campus is relatively safe. There are security guards an transportation that escort you around campus. However, because it is in Camden, you have to be wary. It's safer to walk as a group than alone.
