- Mario Batali (Class of '82) – majored in Spanish theater at Rutgers, but later went on to be a celebrity on the Food Network
- Patricia Smith Campbell (Class of '63) – pioneered the development of "drug patch" technologies, such as Nicoderm CQ for cigarette addiction; her discoveries have resulted in 23 patents for medical products and processes to improve human health worldwide.
- Deron Cherry (Class of '81) – co-captain of the Scarlet Knights in 1980, Rutgers Football hall of famer; NFL's highest-paid defensive back in late '80s with $850,000 salary, one of the first African Americans to co-own an NFL team (Jacksonville Jaguars)
- Calista Flockhart (Class of '88) – best known as "Ally McBeal," for which she won a Best Actress Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Emmy; also appeared in the Broadway shows "The Glass Menagerie" and the off-Broadway play "Bash"
- James Gandolfini (Class of '83) – popular "Sopranos" star, Emmy and Golden Globe winner. once majored in communication at Rutgers, actively supports Rutgers athletics and is often seen at the games
- Sandra Guzman (Class of '85) – served as editor-in-chief of Latina, the first national bilingual lifestyle magazine for the U.S. Hispanic market, received an Emmy for her Telemundo special on the U.S. Cuban embargo
