SCSU does a lot to inform and educate students about making smart decisions regarding drugs and alcohol. Not very many students drink during the day, mostly people go out on Thursday and have a good time. You can go to a party and not drink. The St. Cloud Police strongly enforce laws and minors will be given out to people caught drinking underage.

The drug and alcohol scene has died down and now is pretty much under control by campus security and the local police.

Students know it is there, but you don't see or hear about it often. Alcohol is really big, but not on campus. Off campus parties is where you hear/see the majority of it. There are programs set up on campus to help educate students on why we shouldn't do drugs. There are other programs that have been created to help students stop doing drugs. Recently the campus has also become a smoke free campus, but hasn't been prepared for the mess it has created with the litter that has started to accumulate because of it.

If you live in Minnesota and say "I'm going to Cloud," most likely someone will respond to you with "That's a party school." It is not so much a drug school, but alcohol usage is pretty prominent. It is a dry and tobacco free campus, but that does not stop anyone. It is a prime location for parties because you have campus with all the dorms in one area, and college homes surrounding campus. There is a party going on every night. Peer pressure depends on who you surround yourself with, but you will definitely feel out of place if you don't drink. A lot of students smoke weed, but you won't find many people snorting coke at a party. I never have. I'm not saying people don't do drugs, because they do, but it is not a big thing to brag about at St. Cloud.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
