By far, the most prevalent drug on campus is Adderall because students take it for both studying and pleasure. Marijuana is around and can be easily found if you look for it, but students would say there is rarely peer pressure to try it at St. Joe’s. Like at most colleges, there are stories about some crazy kid who freaked out on LSD, but there are never any eyewitness accounts.

St. Joe’s students are pretty big into drinking, which can sometimes be a problem freshman year. Alcohol-related hospital trips decrease dramatically as students get older, and it isn’t a real problem for upperclassmen at all. St. Joe’s is not the place if you’re looking to fade into a smoke-filled drug haze, but you can probably find what you want. There is also a population of students who don’t realize there are any drugs on campus, period. You can be smart and avoid the drugs scene, or you can immerse yourself in it—it’s up to you. Overall, remember that you’re in a university in a major city, but there is very little peer pressure.

Drinking

Drinking is pretty prominent around campus. Of course there are people who don't drink but you'll definitely run into more people who do.

Drugs in Public

The only drug I have come face to face with at school has been weed. Many people smoke weed in the gazebo by the science center. Not once has it become an issue of being around it or being pressured into doing any sort of drugs.
