College Prowler Take

St. Joe’s is in a good location for using public transportation. Check out www.septa.com and learn what trains and buses go where. Most people in Philadelphia commute to work on public transportation, so it is a fairly complex system that can be utilized very effectively if understood. Overbrook train station is right down the road, and Amtrak’s 30th Street station is just one stop away. Also, you can catch a bus to almost anywhere around City Line Avenue with all the different routes that routinely fly up and down the road. The bus is relatively inexpensive, and the City Avenue-oriented Cart is free with student ID.

Many St. Joe’s students complain that the trains stop running around midnight, which makes getting home late slightly challenging. Driving into the city is very easy; however, finding street parking can be tough, and garage parking can get pricey. A lot of students take a train in and then call a cab at the end of the night. Many students become familiar with the trains and subways by the end of their four years in Philly, but a majority of students never bother to figure out the buses unless they have to out of sheer necessity. While the public transportation system isn’t the best, it is good and very accessible to St. Joe’s students. Definitely invest some time and effort into figuring it out.

Shuttles Are Good Escorts Are Temperamental

A-

Transportation is good at Saint Joesph's. It usually runs every half an hour except during the school day when it runs every 15 minutes. It brings students to the surrounding areas which is good to get food and shopping and it is free but it is also very susceptible to weather and gets cancelled easily. You can also call an escort to pick you up and take you to surrounding areas where the shuttle can't go.

Transportation is weak. Compared...

Transportation is weak. Compared to Manhattan’s subway and D.C.’s Metro, Philly’s trains are weak. The city’s subway can get you to places like the sports complex, but it really isn’t as big as it should be. The regional rail disguising itself as a subway is a joke.
