Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The breezy, warm fall and spring days on St. Joe’s campus bring out students in droves. The warmth comes and goes without warning in the transitional seasons, so you will see students in shorts one day and winter jackets the next. Philadelphia has a big cold block of weather in between those two nice times of the year. When winter really hits for the first time, students seem to venture out only for class and the occasional nighttime trip out to socialize. Students seem to take an almost sick pleasure in being able to wear shorts or skirts during warm stints during the colder months.

Philadelphia is a different city depending on the season, and that’s not even taking into account how the Eagles and Phillies are faring. The city hosts numerous outdoor festivals in warmer months, and everyone embodies the “Brotherly Love” image the city has earned. However, make a wrong move around some folks after a week ravaged by snow (or after an Eagles loss), and you’re liable to have your head handed to you. One nice thing about Philly is that the traditional seasons of the year occur pretty routinely here. You may not enjoy the colder weather, but you can count on some really pleasant weather at the beginning and end of the school year, which are the most fun times anyway.

Naturally the North East

Since I have lived in Pennsylvania my entire life I am quite comfortable with the weather. Frigid winters do not scare me. However, I have to say that the school does everything in their power to accommadate the inclimate weather. This includes drying puddles with leaf blowers to make walking to class a little easier.
