I got a scholarship for being a minority and i thought that was awesome. This school is still very expensive but it is helpful to know that they value diversity

I had merit-based scholarships, and few issues. I know friends with need-based scholarships found the process extremely difficult, and the Financial Aid staff not only unhelpful, but rude.

You have to demonstrate a real need. If you are a nursing major you typically have a better shot at getting more aid.

Its great. The financial aid office on campus has plenty of pamphlets offering financial aid.

Merit scholarships are capped at about $19,000 if you dorm (a bit more if you went to a catholic high school and less if you are a commuter) which is a decent amount of money, but as the tuition with room and board is about $42,000, it still leaves you with a big bill. There are also a few grants here and there, but without a killer merit scholarship, you're likely to have some trouble.
