Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The best part and worst part about the classes at Saint Leo University are one in the same: their small size. Your typical class is between 12 and 18 students. The pro to this is that your professor gets to know you on somewhat of a personal level. In most cases they will do everything they can to help you out. The con to the small class size is that attendance is often a big factor in your grade, and since your professor knows who you are it is hard to skip. But it is rare to find a class at Saint Leo that is extremely difficult to pass.

The majority of students at SLU are in the business program, and the administration takes a great deal of pride in it; thus, the business students receive a lot of attention. The University is a liberal arts school, though, so there is a core of general education courses that every student must take no matter what their major, as well as a certain amount of elective credits each student must complete. There are a bunch of good easy courses to fulfill this. Traveling the World for Fun and Pleasure is a popular one, and Lifeguarding Certification and Water Safety Instruction are also fun and beneficial. Because SLU is a Catholic University, students are also required to take two religion courses before they graduate. One is an elective, and the other is known as Religion 401: The Catholic Tradition. The wise Saint Leo student makes sure to take these courses online in the 8-week distance learning course instead of in the classroom.

One on One Communication

The reason I have to this school was because of the small classroom sizes. My teachers actually know me by my name, and they have time to answer your questions.

Some professors are preferred over others because some can be rude or harsh with grading. The curriculum is very reasonable. The registration process can be difficult if there is a hold on your account. It is best to register for classes early because some classes can fill quickly.

College Time Spent Well

I am a high school senior at Zephyrhills high school, and I have been accepted into Saint Leo University. I have to say just being around the class, I can tell that they take there studies very seriously but they also study in a fun way. I can't wait to be apart of their school. I am glad i get the chance to go to Saint Leo. Go Lions!

Online Courses

Saint Leo University takes a great deal of pride in its online learning program. In fact, Saint Leo offers online learning centers in several places all across the country, and even a few internationally. It is continuing to grow. Because of this, many of the courses you take at Saint Leo are also avaiable online. Many students use this as an opportunity to take the courses they do not wish to spent a whole semester getting out of bed for. All online course last only 8 weeks.
