Go Lions! The Saint Leo University athletic teams compete at the NCAA Division II level in the Sunshine State conference. Green and gold colors flourish throughout the team's uniforms and fields, but the stands could see more of them. The stands at events are never at full capacity, but there are a decent amount of people in attedance. For a small school, tickets sell rather well, but the type of crowd depends on the sport. For example, the baseball team get alot of support from from local lovers of the game, whereas lacrosse games see a great deal of support from the visiting teams whose proud parents use the excuse of watching their kids' lacrosse games to come enjoy the sun in Florida.

What the athletics really boil down to at SLU is a reason to go out and watch some decent competition on a weeknight or Saturday afternoon. Most of the students go out to support the teams as long as they know the players. If what you want is a big stadium surrounded by rowdy tailgaters, however, Saint Leo may not be your No. 1 choice.
