Marmion-Snyder Residence Hall is the first challenge most freshmen will encounter during their first year at Saint Leo. The building itself is a typical college dorm and is divided in half by male and female dorms. It's a great place for freshmen to live, mingle, and experience their first year of college. The only real downside is the mile-long hike to class each day. Those first-year students who don't get the Marmion-Snyder experience will stay in either Henderson or Benoit residence halls, which are more centrally located. Upperclassmen have the option of Roderick and Alumni halls as well. These are basically apartments without kitchens, and they are surrounded by a long balcony. The only downside to these buildings is the lack of carpeting.
The ultimate goal for on-campus residents is to live in the apartment buildings located on the lakefront in the back of campus. These buildings are creatively named Buildings 1, 2, 3, and 4, but as far as on-campus living goes, you really can't beat them. Just keep an eye on your student financial account because these apartments could run you almost $7,000 on top of tuition.
For those considering living on campus, be forwarned about a few things. First, the RAs are a gamble. You could have a cool RA that turns a blind eye to everything and hangs out with you, but more than likely you will wind up one that mistakes his Saint Leo RA shirt for a law enforcement badge and will blow the whistle on any noise he hears coming from your room. Secondly, a car is definitely needed because few things are in walking distance. Thirdly, the Office of Residence Life issues points when you get in trouble. Twelve points and you're out. All in all, the on-campus living situation at Saint Leo isn't terrible, but its no four-star resort either. Even though you do have the beneift of waking up every morning to a lake, palm tress, and the Florida sun.

There Are Ups and Downs
The dorm life at Saint Leo is really amazing. Students get to meet others and have a great time with each other. There isn't much to do off campus so staying on campus is usually what most students do I think that the cost is very high and should be lowered.

On Campus Housing or Off Campus
I do not live on campus, I am an adult learner and have my home, which makes St. Leo's distance learning and classes held in differnt campus so wonderful for me. Working a full time job and four children, I would not be able to stay on campus.
