Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Most students will want to move off campus either sophmore or junior year. This gives them the option to have more freedom. Not too much is going on around campus, so it's good be closer to some sort of civilization.

It's not too hard to find off-campus housing. The area around SLU is not heavily populated, and there are always places to rent. There are plenty of apartment complexes around the area. You most likely will not find anything within walking distance to campus, but there are places where a lot of students tend to stay, so it won't be too difficult to find a ride. Most of the apartments and houses in the area are cheap and not in too bad of shape. Living off campus is a must as you get older. It is also much cheaper to live off campus than on campus, everything considered.

All of the students here must have off campus housing, because I thunk we have on campus housing at this school.

Housing Off Campus

The off campus housing is actually pretty spare. There are a few apartment complexes in Dade City and Zephryhills (neighboring towns) but most of them are dingy and old. There is a housing community owned by Saint Leo called East Campus and it's off campus housing that you get through the lottery system. It's two bedroom apartments that are actually pretty nice. But it's really hard to get into because you have to have a pretty high lotto number. The off campus housing would be closer to the town activities such as dining and the clubs and bars in Tampa but not by much. Resident Life on campus is pretty helpful when they have enough people helping them (like student volunteers). And it's super easy to get around there are like 3 main roads that connect to every town.
