Students are generally satisfied with the technological services available on campus. There are a variety of PC and Mac computer labs available for student use, and the printing service is easy to use. Printing is paid for with Billiken Bucks, which is essentially money loaded onto your student ID. The entire campus is wireless, which students find convenient, but there are mixed reviews on Internet speed. If you live on campus, the network in the residence halls tends to slow down at night when everyone is on. All the classroom buildings and libraries have a consistently fast speed. There are also mixed reviews on the Information Technology Services Department, as their assistance varies depending on the problem. If you're having trouble with the SLU network, they can usually help. If you're having a computer problem, they will probably refer you to an outside service.

Most students have their own laptops for the convenience of taking work wherever they need and using the Internet for personal communication. Students like to use laptops in class to take notes because of the online class portal, SLU Global. Each class you're enrolled in has an SLU Global page where professors can post their lectures, assignments, syllabi, and outside resources. SLU also uses Gmail for email service, which is incredibly user friendly and also allows students to use Google documents for group projects. Another great resource is the Instructional Media Center, where students can rent audio and visual equipment and use the computer editing lab for class projects.
