College Freshman 2013-12-02T02:11:48Z
The bus system is pretty good, but sometimes comes too late or too early
College Freshman 2013-11-13T20:19:50Z
Saint Marys could use some updating, but the newer buildings are very nice.
College Freshman 2013-11-13T20:18:34Z
It is very good food, but can get a little pricy at times.

Guys & Girls:

College Freshman 2013-11-13T20:16:43Z
I don't park here, but from what i have heard it is pretty good.
College Freshman 2013-11-13T20:16:05Z
I have never seen students partaking in drug activity, but i am sure it happens.
College Freshman 2013-11-13T20:15:09Z
I have never seen an off campus house for saint marts, so I have no comment about them.
College Freshman 2013-11-13T20:14:17Z
I love living on campus, but the dorms could use a little updating.
College Freshman 2013-11-13T20:13:16Z
there is no night life at Saint marts, but if you go to Notre Dame that is a different story
College Freshman 2013-11-13T20:12:21Z
I love it, the small class sizes allows me to really get to know my professors, but having notre dame across the street allows me to have that "college experience"

Saint Mary's College has a rather small campus in comparison to public universities, so basically anwhere you park will be convenient for you.
College Sophomore 2013-11-10T22:56:58Z
There's a pretty good variety of things to do in town, but Notre Dame has so many options of things going on that Saint Mary's Students are always invited to, that it is like we attend Notre Dame as well as Saint Mary's. South Bend in general is not very safe at all and you always want to make sure you are with somebody, preferably in your own car. But there is a public transportations system that SMC/ND students can take for free, so that is really nice if you don't have a car on campus.

Health & Safety:
If you actually need to see the doctor, they have to send you off campus. But as for getting little things that you might find at a drug store, the women's health department does a pretty good job. I don't know too much because I didn't get sick enough to go down there, but that's what I've heard. The security is great on campus. There is next to no danger and I always feel extremely safe.

There are a couple cafes in addition to the dining hall, but there is nowhere to eat late at night, so you better stock up ahead of time if you are a midnight snack person! They give you flex dollars for the cafes and the amount depends on your meal plan, or you can just pay in cash. They have a pretty good list of options for meal plans. The food kind of repeats every now and then, and its pretty good during the week, but on the weekend its difficult to find good options.

Guys & Girls:
Saint Mary's College is an all-girls school and the community is very accepting, caring, and hardworking.
College Sophomore 2013-11-10T22:47:46Z
Saint Mary's College was not a good fit for me personally. I was looking for a really Catholic school and challenging academic program, and coming from such a great high school I did set me up for dissapointment. If you want a Catholic college, do not attend Saint Mary's, as it is next to impossible to find a good community on your campus to support your faith. It's really sad to admit that considering they are Catholic in name. Also, they have a really strong science department, but very small humanities department. That is mostly due to the way the market is going, as you will find humanities majors to be very few anywhere. People are very hardworking, accepting, and caring, so don't be discouraged about that. SMC is very well known so if you attend you won't have trouble finding a job afterward. It was just too hard for me as a practicing Catholic to be in a more secular environment.

I don't know much about off-campus housing, unfortunately. Most students live on campus and love it. But there are a few seniors that go live off campus and enjoy that too. It depends on what you like.

It's pretty easy to apply to Saint Mary's College. They look strongly at your grades, but they also are really great with financial aid. I believe they use the Common App, which is really helpful.

I have not had an internship...so I can't answer this one.

At Saint Mary's College, there is almost no parties and underage nightlife. Everybody that wants to participate in the party scene goes across the street to Notre Dame, where there are too many options to count. This is a real plus for Saint Mary's because if you don't want to participate, you don't have to get involved on your own campus, but if you do want to, it's right across the street.

Well, Saint Mary's College is an all-girls Catholic school, so the majority of students is Christian and white. But they are so welcoming for anyone of any background that they hold diversity events for different cultures every month. That is actually the number one club I know most students were involved in.
College Sophomore 2013-11-10T22:35:09Z
There aren't really sororities at Saint Mary's College. We're just all one community.

I'm from 300 days of sun Colorado, so attending college in the Midwest was shocking for me. The Fall semester is absolutely gorgeous with all the trees changing, and some rainy weather occasionally. The Spring semester, however, is gloomy, you almost never see the sun, and its very very cold with a lot of snow.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
