Burlington is a great city to be near. A lot of shopping and dining. Tons of hippies and hobos though. Guard your wallets! Plenty of skiing and snowboarding. Lots of St. Mike's students go to smugglers notch.

There's a lot to do at the college since it's right outside of Burlington. Most common place to go off campus is church street. This elegant street is blocked from all cars and people can move freely along the brick street. There are many shops along this street, a great variety as well. You'll find everything from your common mall to tea, ice cream, and millions of restaurants. Absolutely the first thing you show your visitors that come up. Another big attraction are the ski slopes. We get a huge discount on ski seasons pass for $65. 2 trips should pay it off. Or for you adventurous lovers, we have a great deal of rock climbing, paddling, and many amazing mountains to climb.

Burlington is a big reason many people go to school in this area. It is absolutely amazing, with great restaurants, art festivals, and parking. On that note, it can be somewhat difficult to get in to town without a car. While all SMC students ride the city bus for free, the bus doesn't run to SMC on Sundays and can be unreliable the other six days of the week. Riding a bike in to town isn't too difficult in the warm months.

Burlington is fantastic and the city is at your fingertips but you also have a small secluded space if you want it to feel more rural.
