Well the old coach for. Basketball paid very little to the team and the potential players. He passed up some great players that could have put us on the map as a team. But overall the other Sports are what really carry the School. New Coach watch for the winners that's coming your way this year don't sleep on them.

I came to St. Thomas Aquinas college to study psychology. They have a variety of classes that are interesting, and are taught by good professors. The only problem that I have is that those classes fill up real fast and if you not among the first to register, you won't get in and then you have to take a class you really don't like

You can call a taxi to take you anywhere in the town but there arent many places to go. Its located in a very boring area of New York.

There is enough parking and the campus is small so it's all close.

The honors program offers a full tuition scholarship, and there are a bunch of other scholarship programs.

Although off campus dining is not included in the meal plan, a student is able to place money on their "Spartan Card" which is essentially a debit card. This card can be used at certain designated locations in the area. Aside from that there are a variety of food options both fast food and sit down restaurants. There are all sorts of different options, such as Thai Food, Indian food, Planet Wings, Chinese Food, Pizza etc. Some places have better deals than others. For instance there's a $25 dollar all you can eat sushi restaurant right up the road, and down the road in the other direction Applebee's sponsors half priced appetizers after 10 pm.

Overall I believe that the Academics at St. Thomas Aquinas College were exceptional. The staff was extremely knowledgeable in their areas of interest. Since St. Thomas Aquinas College is fairly small the professors know you by first name basis and are geared towards making sure that you truly understand the material. This assured that I truly understood the material in each of my classes. As a Biology major this was extremely important to me and allowed me to interact with my professors which is something I would not have been able to do at a larger university.

Health & Safety:
St. Thomas Aquinas College's campus is relatively small but security is always present. The campus itself is gated on both sides of the road so a student ID is required in order to swipe in and gain access to the campus after 9pm. Again, security does nightly room checks in order to further ensure safety. The security team also patrols the parameters of the campus both by foot and by vehicle in order to assure that no unwanted visitors or predators are trying to make their way onto campus.

There really isn't an opportunity to drink on campus, although the campus recently became a "wet" campus. Security is extremely strict and does nightly room checks which makes drinking for minors nearly impossible. The majority of the nightlife takes place at the local strip of bars. These bars can not be walked to, so a taxi ride is practically inevitable. There is no real "club" scene although we're located relatively close to New York City. All the bars are 21 and older which makes getting in for minors nearly impossible. On the main strip of bars there are only two main bars which everyone goes to, which often gets repetitive and boring.

There is a mall nearby where you can get any kind of food you like.

It is great to have a car on campus as a freshman, however residents cannot park near their dorm when they are a freshman.

Since we have a lot of commuter students sometimes the weather gets in the way.
College Senior 2013-03-30T14:15:38Z
Classes are cancelled according to the weather conditions. Safety is a concern for the college.

I did not receive much financial aid, after going through the process. I think there needs to be a better way to determine the amount of aid I needed. I believe a personal interview is needed to make a determination.

The diversity at STAC is very present. It's great being able to make friends with so many different types of people, especially those form other states or countries. Most people get along very well with each which makes the experience of makign friends even better.

Health & Safety:
As this is my freshman year, I haven't had much time on campus as upper classmen have had. However, I've never felt unsafe on campus. There's almost always other people or security walking around. Also, the school is very small so if you need security they can reach you quickly.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
