The meal plan is automatically included in the price of tuition. This meal plan covers unlimited eating at Corrin Refectory, which is a buffet/cafeteria-style dining place, but that is the only place it covers. The food there is generally considered average. There is always cereal, pizza, and a salad bar, and other options change. The Refectory is commonly referred to as "The Rat" by students, and this reflects their feelings toward the quality of the food. There is another place on campus to eat called The Grill, which has better food, and there are also relatively inexpensive places around town to eat. However, many students feel it is a waste of money for them to have to buy a meal plan in the first place, since they're spending so much money elsewhere to find good food. Nevertheless, fast food is a very popular choice on campus.
The food is tolerable, but irritating. It's recommended that students budget for plenty of fast food, especially for late-night runs after the Refectory has closed at 7 p.m. Residence halls also have kitchens, and sometimes students like to invite their friends to dinner and cook because it's a nice and tasty time to socialize.
