Transportation at Salem College isn't great, but it will suffice for most students. City transportation is the worst because it's an inconvenience to have to plan around bus routes and schedule changes. Salem offers shuttles into the city, but these usually only run once a week for around four hours, and they typically only go to one place. There is an "errand" shuttle that takes students to stores they need to go to, but these run even less frequently. School shuttles can get you to Walmart, a couple of shopping centers, and the Hanes Mall, which is one of the largest malls on the East Coast. There is also a movie theater behind the Walmart, so that gives students something to do off campus.
For pure convenience and reliability, students should try to bring their own cars to Salem. If you can't bring a car, find friends who are willing to give you a ride.
