Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

San Diego State’s computer facilities are extremely useful with the variety of programs they offer and the various services they provide. The programs and support offered to students is wonderful, and taking one of the BATS courses offered by the school is highly recommended. Most of the computer labs are located in Love Library and a few others are spread around campus. The supply of computers is very abundant, and there is hardly a time when you cannot find a computer to use in the library. Unfortunately, the time that it is hard to find an available computer is during midterms and finals week. There is usually a wait of anywhere from five minutes to half an hour during this chaotic time. Getting your work done ahead of time or brining your own laptop to school is a great way to get out of waiting in line.

San Diego State has a lot of students to satisfy with its computer labs and, for the most part, the University is meeting demand. However, as previously mentioned, during midterms and finals it can be a real pain to find a computer. If the school slowly increases the number of computers in its possession over the next couple of years, the problem of computer shortage should disappear. Most students only go in during midterms and finals week when they absolutely need to finish their work, and that is why there is such a congestion.

Often Fast and Reliable

The computers at SDSU are numerous enough that it usually only takes a minute max to find an empty seat. The networks are high-speed. Several people are able to use the wireless network with no problem. Printing costs are average.

Great Computer Access

At SDSU, there is a computer lab filled with many computers on the main floor of the library. One can also find computers with 24-hour access in the 24-hour library. There are more computers located in the bottom of the dome and also in certain classrooms. Printing is easy and costs 10 cents, sometimes free in classrooms. Computers have useful programs and good speed. However, WiFi is available and it is always nice to have your personal laptop on hand.
