College Prowler Take
San Diego State’s computer facilities are extremely useful with the variety of programs they offer and the various services they provide. The programs and support offered to students is wonderful, and taking one of the BATS courses offered by the school is highly recommended. Most of the computer labs are located in Love Library and a few others are spread around campus. The supply of computers is very abundant, and there is hardly a time when you cannot find a computer to use in the library. Unfortunately, the time that it is hard to find an available computer is during midterms and finals week. There is usually a wait of anywhere from five minutes to half an hour during this chaotic time. Getting your work done ahead of time or brining your own laptop to school is a great way to get out of waiting in line. San Diego State has a lot of students to satisfy with its computer labs and, for the most part, the University is meeting demand. However, as previously mentioned, during midterms and finals it can be a real pain to find a computer. If the school slowly increases the number of computers in its possession over the next couple of years, the problem of computer shortage should disappear. Most students only go in during midterms and finals week when they absolutely need to finish their work, and that is why there is such a congestion.

Since SDSU is a big campus with a lot of students, it is hard to find an open computer. We do have a couple computer labs where students can use computers. I do think if a laptop is accessible, students should bring one.

Getting a Wi-Fi connection here is great. I always have a steady connection, and it's pretty fast, too! |

The computer labs are accessible to all students, although peak times in the semester may create a wait. I bring a laptop to all my classes for note taking, and find that I can access the Internet and all the library resources wirelessly around campus. The labs have updated technologies that allow students to complete all the tasks necessary for most coursework. |
