Gay Pride
With the strong Greek life here at San Diego State, falling within the crowd is definitely encouraged. If you wear a shirt that is a little too bright or comb your hair in a certain way, you might be ostracized. This is not to say that San Diego State is intolerant; tolerance is here, it is just not readily visible.
Political Activity
Like the rest of California, politics here at San Diego State tend to fall on the liberal side. While walking through Aztec Center, you will hear protestors preaching about the environment, equal rights, and other issues that they will try to get you to support by signing their petitions. Most of the professors on campus are liberal, though there are a few that fall on the conservative side.
Most Common Religions
For better or for worse, religion does not play a big role here at San Diego State. People are far more concerned with what fraternity or sorority you're aligned with rather than who you pray to. The largest presence felt on campus would be that of the Jewish community simply because they have their own fraternity.
Minority Clubs on Campus
Afrikan Student Union, Arab Student Union, Asian Pacific Student Alliance, Black Social Work Student Caucus, Ethiopian Student Association, Japanese Student Society, Muslim Cultural Club, Raices Unidas, Russian Club, Vietnamese Student Association
