College Prowler Take
Greek presence is enormous here, and you will see signs of it everywhere you go. Walking through campus you will see Greek letters embroidered on everything from T-shirts to hot pants. Sororities walk in unison down the streets, fraternities roam the campus dressed in monkey suits, and the call of the Greek kegger ripples its way through the whispering voices of young freshmen. With the overwhelming presence of the Greeks and their parties, it often seems like they hold a monopoly on the social life and nightlife of the school, but this is not the case. Whether or not you join a fraternity or sorority, there are plenty of social activities that you can participate in, and there will be plenty of partying for you to indulge in.
Fraternities and sororities are very tight social organizations that have a huge presence here on campus, especially during rush week and other such times. You will constantly hear Greek speak whether you like it or not. If you can’t stand Greeks, chances are that you’ve already stopped reading this section or thrown this book into a bonfire, because Greek presence IS that strong. Even with the strength of the Greeks, there is plenty of social life left for those outside of the system. You do not have to join them in order to have a good time on the weekends. For those interested in becoming fraternity or sorority members, San Diego State offers a plethora of options for you, and a social presence of the Greeks that you are sure to appreciate.

I would say that Greek life does...
I would say that Greek life does dominate the social scene, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t meet some really cool people outside of it. I wouldn’t say that joining a fraternity or sorority is the best choice, at least not for me. |

On campus, Greek life dominates the social scene. It’s great, though, because of all the parties they throw and the friends that you meet. As long as you have connections with the Greeks, you’ll always have weekend plans. |

Greek Students
N/A
I haven't heard of any Greek students at school, so I don't think that Greek students are affecting the social atmosphere on campus. Everyone seems to be nice and friendly at school, and I don't see why non-Greeks would have a problem with Greek students.

Greek life is pretty active here...
Greek life is pretty active here for those that are interested. As for the social scene, the fraternities like to throw themed parties on weekends, which are always fun. But for those who don’t like to party with the Greeks, there are always the ‘double keggers’ at some random person’s house. Whatever floats your boat, partying is partying. |

Greek life is very big at SDSU....
Greek life is very big at SDSU. The biggest parties go on at Frat Row and they throw them all the time. Each fraternity throws at least one party during the weekend. |
