Transportation

Quick Stats

Best Ways to Get Around Town MTS Trolley System if you or your friends don’t have a car

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Public transportation at San Diego State is not at all popular for now. There is a bus station located nearby, which almost nobody uses. The bus station is conveniently located, but many students feel that public transportation is not right for them because of the waiting time for the buses, and the questionable people that ride the bus. Students who have used the trolley station in Mission Valley are impressed with its ease of use and its convenient stops downtown and by the border. With the new station right on campus, the trolley will be utilized by even more students, and transportation has received a much nicer presentation that appeals to the student population on a much broader level.

Being able to take the new, attractive trolley to a Padres game or Tijuana is a very appealing idea to many students. Imagine drinking in your apartment, catching the trolley downtown to a Padres game, and riding it back after a victorious win against the Giants. Oh the possibilities! Hopefully more students will decide to use the trolley to go downtown and back rather than take the risk of driving drunk. With the addition of the trolley to campus, and the proximity of the bus stop to campus, San Diego State students are sure to embrace public transportation a great deal more than they ever have before.

Transportation at SDSU

Some of the transportation options at school is the trolley, public bus, and bikes. For an all day pass it costs $5 and that pass is useful for the bus and trolley.

Transportation

My first year at college, I did not have a vehicle. I thought I would struggle without one, but there are plenty of transportation options featured at SDSU. The campus features it's own Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) trolley stop in the middle of campus with trolleys arriving every fifteen minutes. An MTS bus station is also featured on campus. The trolleys and buses work well together and conveniently work their schedules around each other. There are plenty of cab and shuttle services that are in the SDSU area as well.
