Tuition & Financial Aid:
The financial aid is fine, but being that I have exceeded my limit it is hard for me to pay for college now.

I believe that the quality of education that I receive at san jacinto college is great. The honor programs students all know each other because we regularly attend field trips. There is a lot of tutoring and help given if you need help with a class.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The tuition is affordable, and the education I have received exceeds the cost of attending. The courses I have taken have been well taught, and were new material for me. The only downside, I feel, is sometimes I felt more like I was sitting in a high school class rather than a college class.

I am confident to introduce my campus resources. The whole campus is covered by strong and fast wireless network, i am able to access it everywhere, though after each inactivity hour, it is automatically closed and need to sign in again. Regarding to printing, there is a technology building, where students may pay and get their paper. Library has laptops for student to use in there.

I am taking the first online class ever in my life. Because this is History, students are required to read the whole textbook, without professor's explanation. It is literally called study by yourself. However, the test is easy with multiple choices (reading book is a must). Communication with professor is straightforward; there is no group study.

My campus just opened a new building called Allied Health Science Building. Beside the brand new facilities, the helpful kindness of professors is the most impressive point. Every professor is willing to share their experience in real working environment (some worked for big company), write strong recommendation, and introduce for some employers.

According to my research, my college supports a very strong post-grad services. First, there is a career database, where both current students and alumni may network with local employer. Second, Employment department usually hold workshops, events, which provide necessary skill in real working environment and interview tips for students. Last, all officers have good knowledge to support students in application process.

Given the fact that most students are of working class, their main priority is focusing on school and not socializing. Although many social events are held on campus to socialize and meet new people for those students who want the opportunity to mingle.

The professors at San Jacinto are wonderful. The class sizes are not large, giving them the opportunity to answer questions or simply interact one on one with students. Class registration is done online or in school. The process is simple and straight forward, which I enjoy.

I am a psychology major. The classes offered are right on point and the professors are very knowledgeable. The workload is kind of rough. Since I find the topic interesting, it comes easy to me.

I have learned a lot but some students distracted me with their lack of care.

There needs to be cheaper printing and easier scanning.

The library could be bigger and there could be a more quiet study area.

Most of the science classes are pretty hard but the professors seem to really care about the subjects they teach overall.

Most the students at this school are kind of immature and very young. They are sometimes rude and do not seem to care about their futures and the school.
College Junior 2013-09-10T14:00:50Z
they have many classes to choose from which helps me because on top of being a full time student I am also a full time worker which means my school schedule can be kinda crazy.

A unique thing that the college I go to has, are the professors, the availability they have. It is true that in every school there are either teachers(elementary, intermediate, high school) and/or professors (college, university), but the difference in the college is that professor provide you with lots of information. Whenever students or anyone that meet the college professors for the first time, it is very clear to see the determination and time they put into their job to reach their one and major goal, to educate students and make of them successful people.

The problem that the library has is the lack of not enough computers and printer (only one printer in the library). The student center sometimes it does get pretty crowded most of the time inside of the bookstore. Any campus activities or music/theater performance are usually posted in the college website for students to see and the music professors often remind you of any "musical events".

I am trying to pursue an associates degree in dentistry because later on I will be transferring to become an orthodontist. Right now I am starting off with "the basics" and the classes I've been taking are pretty good. Even though I will say that getting close towards the end of the semester things get really hard. Final exams and final projects/research papers does gave me a lot of pressure and deadlines seem very close.

The class registration process is very poor, students often go to the college to go and change their classes because sometimes the system won't let you change/drop a class and its very slow. The classes get full very fast and sometimes it's difficult for students to register for classes. The professors most often are very helpful and will offer to help you in anything you need also most of them are very positive about their students. The programs that are offered at the college are plenty but sometimes if there is a specific career you may want to pursue you may have to ask the counselors to help you what plans you may have for the future.

The college I go to has problems with the amount of computers there are in the library. It is so frustrating when I go to the library and I can find a computer to print out an important assignment. I have to wait until a computer becomes vacant. There is only one printer at the library and people most of the time have to line-up to print out any assignments. In the computer labs(classrooms that have computers) it is more possible to get a computer. Each student is provided with a computer and even sometimes if the number of students its smaller in each classroom, usually there are few computers left. The speed its very slow but you can get wireless access almost everywhere.

I guess that any experience with online courses really depend more on the professor than on the online course itself. Some online courses are hard because some professors require for students to download so many programs in order to get on with the class. This is why I would recommend to take a 50% online, 50% in-class course instead of a 100% online class. It is always better to have at least some face-to-face interaction with professors because it helps to have someone physically who can help, then to just have online help on certain hours of the day. Besides, technical online problems always occur unexpectedly.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
