Drinking is only paid attention to when evidence is apparent. People walk through quad clearly loud and drunk and nothing is said. Smoking frown upon. Kids kinda do whatever they want but you will get in trouble if your stupid obviously

Not hugely diverse but definitely too some extent. Religiously diverse in a way. Can't complain. Definitely majority asian and wealthier class though

Health & Safety:
Never really had a problem with safety or robbery. Dorms have multiple locks to get to apartments/rooms. People leave their doors open all the time. Call spots around campus also

Every place around that I have eaten has been delicious. The delivery options are good to especially gugu's. Rama V and the korean restaurants are my favorite. Wide Variety of choices

I like the food, sometimes they get orders wrong but it happens. After awhile you do get kinda sick of it but a couple of things are really nice about SCU dining. The cellar below benson dining hall has lots of stuff to use your points on like mini grocery store. Also there is a phone app that allows you to order from phone

Many things to do nearby. Santa cruz/beach is close. San Fran is easy to get to. Places to eat within walking. Mall&mini golf&trampoline place ~10 min drive. Zip car is amazing to have!!! Cute little town tho, nice to walk around in. Lots of partying to weekends and wednesday night is party night. No pressure to party if you don't. Lots of events. Farmers market every Saturday =]

Obviously, because SCU is located in the Bay Area/Valley, there is great weather year round. Usually sunny, and the rain doesn't last for more than a day or two.
College Junior 2013-03-27T05:22:36Z
there are shops and stores close, and malls not too far away

I have never had an internship, but if I can find one, I would definitely jump on the opportunity to take it. Internships are important because they give you actual experience in your field of study. I think it can be hard to find internships for more narrow fields, and I think more students could benefit if there were more internships that were available to them.

I love the ease with which students, including myself, can change majors at SCU. There's one form to get signed by the departments one is leaving and entering, and then presto it's official. No majors are impacted, although the business school, as top-notch as it is, is known for being quite competitive to get into. The engineering school is great, too-strong majors, quality professors. My only complaint is the limited options of majors. Because the school is small, we have the basics but not many specialty or interdisciplinary areas to explore. It's very common to double or triple major, and double or triple minor. I know students who didn't even declare until the end of their junior year and still graduated on time. My advice: don't be afraid to be undecided. Explore classes in a broad range of subjects and go with what your heart says. Follow your passion.

The nice thing about SCU is from what I hear there's no peer pressure. At all. People are free to go to parties and not drink, and people have a good time watching their drunk cohorts. Some students smoke weed, but that doesn't dominate the social scene on or off campus. Campus safety and city police enforce rules when neighbors complain, but are otherwise lenient and very helpful in emergency situations.

There's so much to do! The problem is having enough time to do everything with all the intense studying that keeps SCU students busy though admired by future employers. Separate from the partying Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, athletic facilities are always hopping with crowds of students (SCU's one of the fittest and best looking student populations according to the media!), and there are lots of teams to join-intramural soccer or volleyball or baseball or flag football, to name a few, are very popular, as are the zumba and other fitness classes. We also have a vibrant multicultural community and related activities, and many, many community service and leadership organizations.

The campus is beautiful and has a very welcoming environment. Students and faculty are friendly and smile at people as they pass. Because of the small community, just over 5,000 undergraduates, it has the everyone knows everyone vibe, and it's impossible to walk through the dining area or to a class without seeing a familiar face or friend. Also, being in Silicon Valley, we have access to top notch technology, access to jobs, and with a strong alumni support system and donations, our buildings are frequently updated and kept nice and ahead of the game.

Gorgeous! With light showers speckled rarely, the campus has sun year round and looks like a resort. Colorful flowers bloom all year and the grass is soft and inviting. It's common to see large amounts of students sitting or laying on the grass in bathing suits studying or relaxing between classes.

There are about 50+ other dining options within a mile radius of campus. Many offer student discounts or are priced for students. Many different ethnic types of food, fast food, pizza and grocery options are available in abundance.

I stayed in Casa Italiana when it was fairly new. My experience there was excellent!

Not too many eating options on campus, but the few there are, are tasty and convenient

Health & Safety:
The campus is small so it is difficult to get hurt or injured or have a crime committed against you without a quick response.

great nightlife. big parties on wednesdays, fridays and saturdays. winter quarter is a little more dead but there are still plenty of parties. great bar scene too if you are legal or have a decent fake ID.

Beautiful weather all year round. It barely gets cold here and when it does it quickly warms up. rarely rains.

Pretty normal options, with a lot of chain restaurants.

Pretty strict, but if you are smart you just won't get caught.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
