Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Santa Rosa Junior College isn't a stereotypical junior college. It is filled with a diverse group of students eager to learn and move on with their intended majors. The academic life is quite elite for a junior college. The campus gives the feeling of an old prestigious institution. Not only do the buildings give students the feeling of attending a private institution, but the teachers are also of great quality and are all very passionate about the subjects they teach.

Between the array of classes offered and the superb athletic teams, SRJC has created a community among students and the residents of Santa Rosa. The school was intended to be a feeder school for the University of California system, and still is to this day, with a special program designed for the direct transfer of students to various UC campuses. Students who attend SRJC can transfer to four-year universities with confidence.

Financially a Good Plan.

I picked this school because it was cost efficient and I didn't know what I wanted to do. Not much goes on outside the classroom on campus and if it does it isn't well advertised so that anyone knows about it. I don't know if I would pick it again, like I said it was cheap but I didn't feel like I was in college or particularly challenged. It worked for getting GE out of the way for transfer but I wouldn't recommend it for anything else.

Big Mix, High Schoolers to Retirees.

There is a big mix. Students straight out of high school, students that are working double jobs and trying to get school in, some who just show up for a class because their parents are making them, and some are much older looking to re-educate themselves for their jobs, or to find another job. People can be pretty friendly, but there is nothing on campus that particularly encourages making friends or having fun. Some people flout through this school others, work hard to transfer. Big mix.

Easy

Working with the teachers if you need to work around you school schedule and all your classes is fairly easy because the teachers here are understanding. The administration office is a little harder to deal with, mainly because of all the students they have to deal with. transferring credits isnt too hard, but difficult if there is alot.
