They must have earned at least 24 credits towards a degree in floriculture, landscape design, agronomy, plant science, environmental science, botany or horticulture at an accredited college or university. They must have plans to pursue a career in one of these fields after graduation. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or more. If awarded the scholarship, the recipient will be expected to to give a 10-minute speech on his or her horticultural interests and goals at the Arboretum's annual meeting. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.
