Its a small university in a small city. You can know everyone on campus.

If you ever want to drive to class, there are no parking spots available. Especially if the weather is dreary and you wish to drive or carpool. Freshman residents have one lot allowed for them but it is shared with other residents as well.

Printing at the library is reasonable and the network and wireless access is almost always available! SU is actually updating the connection as we speak so it will be much quicker!
College Freshman 2013-11-14T21:19:24Z
There is lots to see! Go down to the river or shop at the small!
College Freshman 2013-11-14T21:17:33Z
Teachers are always ready to work with you! The workload is challenging but understandable. Great program!
College Freshman 2013-11-14T21:17:33Z
The professors are great and very understanding!

If you are going to college to drink or do drugs don't come here. You will be bored. People don't to either one on this campus.

Love the weather it is mild and usually sunny. Very pretty campus.
College Sophomore 2013-11-09T23:25:01Z
I think it it a fair mix but reflects small town Texas. Fairly Christian and conservative and mostly Texas folks.

Health & Safety:
Free health services! You have to pay for outside lab testing. And if you need a referral they have a network of providers that will work with student. The campus is very safe. Campus police are always highly visible at night.

Off campus dining options aren't the greatest but it shouldn't be a reflection of the school. The school is in a very small Texas Hill Country town. There are your normal fast food places and a few small cafe type places. If you are looking for off campus distractions this is not the school for you. If you are looking to focus on school this is an excellent place.

I have a laptop and also use the computers in the library quite often. I always find an empty computer and have never had any computer / network related problems. The teachers use Schreiner One (similar to Blackboard) on a daily basis to post handouts, assignments, and grades. If you have an iPhone/ smartphone to check school email and use the library computers I wouldn't bother with a personal computer.

I love my major and the professors that I've had the opportunity to learn from. They are excited about what they do and that makes it easy for their students to become excited adn interested in the field. Exercise Science is one of the most popular majors here and the students vigilance and involvement is widely known and respected.

Everyone is very accepting and those who aren't as comfortable with acceptance simply stay close to their groupa dn don't venture out much. There has never been adn issues with any kind of acceptance during my experience here.

Financial aid is extremely important and this campus is very helpful with that. We get weekly emails about new scholarships opportunities. There is always money to be had and if someone can't find it then they just aren't looking.

Majority of students here are involved in sports. Those who are not on an athletic team are very supportive, including faculty and staff. The entire campus is full of pride and spirit!

Living on campus is very convenient and it's such a small campus that it's hard to be late to or miss classes and events. The residence halls are well kept and the RA's create events that let everyone be involved. The atmosphere is always friendly with staff and students. The only downfall is the unreliable internet/wifi.

I am a commuter and spend very little time on campus. I don't see or hear much about the drinking/drug scene on campus. Although, I do here that the security on campus seems to be inconsistent in the punishment of such activities. Otherwise I don't hear about these activities and I have never been asked to participate in them.

Love the library!! It has all the computers that you need to do the work and then print. Registration is now better since you can do everything online without going to your advisor. Only problem is that because it is a small school there are not many openings for classes and it can be very difficult to get the classes that you need.
College Junior 2013-09-16T19:11:44Z
Professors are able to meet one on one with students usually, but my biggest complaint is that you are treated just above a high school student. Grade based on attendance seems childish, I am paying for the class if I decided not to go to class that should be my choice.
College Sophomore 2013-08-05T22:30:28Z
There isn't a whole lot of dining options in Kerrville. Majority of people will go to Whataburger or Mamacitas for dinner with friends. However, San Antonio is a quick drive and that's where people like to go for dinner with a big group or if they are looking for something nicer.
College Sophomore 2013-08-05T22:24:58Z
There are plenty of computers for the students to use in the library if they need to use a school computer or simply don't have one of their own. Also, there are computers strictly for graphic designers with all of the required software you will need to complete your projects in case you don't want to spend the money on the programs yourself.
College Sophomore 2013-07-24T23:41:13Z
It's relatively clean and homely; freshman have doors closer to campus buildings and sophomores on up have their own apartments on campus.
College Junior 2013-07-17T17:41:31Z
though its a small campus they are full of fighting spirit and talent.
College Junior 2013-07-17T16:59:22Z
I find that while the campus security is vigilant, their responses to offenses such as alcohol and drug use on campus can often be either too much or too little, meaning they do not make any allowances for the type of situation involved, and do not show much compassion in instances where the student's health or safety is in danger.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
