Don't Be Stupid

Scripps College does not look to get their students in trouble. That said, don't be obvious about breaking the rules cause if you are, the school will follow its policies. This year Scripps revised their alcohol policy for the better. If you and your friend have been drinking (both of you are underage) and your friend is in need of medical attention, by calling security for help, you will not get in trouble. The security at Scripps number on goal is to keep the students safe.

There Are No Penalties

The great thing about Scripps College and all of the Claremont Colleges is that you never have to be afraid of "getting caught." Since there is no greek system, big parties on the weekends are often sponsored by the hosting school. Most parties either have a keg or even (at Harvey Mudd) mixed drinks offered for free. Some parties are stricter that others about carding for serving alcohol, but it's never really an issue. Also, campus security is always present, but not for the purpose of writing students up, they are only there to make sure everyone is safe. I feel safe whenever I go out at night and never like I'm doing something sketchy.

Depends on Where You Are

Overall at the 5C's, the alcohol policy is extremely lenient. I am never worried about being "caught" for underage drinking, and most parties provide alcohol without charge/without carding. This isn't true on Scripps, where there are very few parties and underage drinking isn't tolerated. I actually prefer it this way, since I can go to other schools for parties and then come back to a quiet campus.
