Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Part of your education is being around people from different walks of life, and no place is better for that than Seton Hall, one of the most diverse campuses in the country. The social scene at Seton Hall is very trendy and fast-paced. The school is full of rich kids with all the money in the world to burn, and they normally burn it on clothes and bars. Seton Hall’s education is good depending upon your major. Business, nursing, computer science, and diplomacy are what make Seton Hall a Tier II school. The people you meet here, and the friendships that you form, make this school a community. After an academically-tough freshman year, the only thing that kept me from transferring were the friends that I would miss. Another good reason to attend Seton Hall is its proximity to New York City, which is an endless bank of great internships, and possibly jobs. The Career Center on campus works very hard to obtain Seton Hall students positions in places like Wall Street, and as the saying about NYC goes, if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.

If you do come to Seton Hall, you should get involved with a group or organization. In high school, it was not cool to be in the Stock Market Club, but here, the kids who are in it might be the future millionaires, so find something you like or something that is orientated with your studies. Finally, balance your work and your play. Part of the professional world is based on people skills, and if you are cramped up in the library the whole time, chances are, you do not have the best social skills. On the other hand, if you do not know where the library is by junior year, then you need to seriously rethink the whole college thing.

Housing

On campus has its ups and downs. Fire drills are the worst especially at late hours. However living on-campus is very convenient. Both on-campus and off-campus living is expensive.

Mixed Population

Seton Hall has a mixed population of students but races seem to stick together. Often in classes there is a majority of white students and a few other races mixed in. In most cases there are not a lot of racial problems and people seem to get along.
