Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

There are ridiculous amounts of drugs on campus. Sometimes, it is easier to find a dime bag of marijuana than it is to find a six pack on campus. Students even go so far as to construct elaborate systems for filtering smoke out of their rooms. Those who are naturally paranoid about smoking on campus can go to many off-campus residences where kids smoke weed without the fear of getting caught. However, marijuana is just the tip of the iceberg at Seton Hall. In the past years, cocaine went from becoming something a few students did behind closed doors to a common recreational drug at parties and bars. Ecstasy was popular in the past couple of years, but it has taken a back seat to pills and other drugs. The other drugs that have spread throughout campus have been the occasional wave of acid and mushrooms, which are highly sought after in the spring.

Additionally, rich kids have introduced prescription painkillers to the campus. While OxyContin and Vicodin were normally reserved for major operations and injuries, Seton Hall students use them to get a high for a few hours. Increasingly, these and other similar drugs have become very accessible to people who have never even heard of a root canal. But just because these drugs are prevalent, it does not mean that everybody does them. More importantly, you do not have to do them to fit it. There is little peer pressure about doing drugs at Seton Hall to the point that you would never know about drugs on campus unless you were looking for them.

Drug Safety

From my time at Seton Hall, I have not been a part or witnessed any drug usage, but I have been involved in parties and alcohol. I have used alcohol, but on a moderate level.
