Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

If you happen to be a workout buff, you’ve come to the right place. It seems that most of the guys on campus look in the mirror more than they do a textbook. The Recreation Center has a workout room open to all students that includes treadmills, bikes, free weights, and workout machines. Although it can be busy during the middle of the day and early evening, early birds can rest assured that they can get a great workout with relatively few interruptions. Also inside the Recreation Center are basketball courts and a racquetball court. The pool is very nice, but much nicer when followed by a long sauna session in the men’s or women’s locker room.

The other major facility on campus is the University Student Center, where you’ll find the cafeteria, a coffee lounge, the coliseum-like theater, and a game room. This building is a haven for commuters, where food, relaxation, and socialization all fall under one roof. A large population of Seton Hall students is commuters, so SHU makes sure they have a place to hang out in between classes. It is not uncommon to find yourself in the University Center all day, because you can always find someone you know there.

Everything You Need at Seton Hall

Personally, I really like the feel of the Seton Hall campus. Cozy and beautifully kept, the gated campus centers around the campus green which is really nice to hang out on when the weather's nice. The rec center is great, and the library is alright. Nothing too special architecturally but it's got most of what you would need, except things like contemporary fiction. It's more of an academic library.

Everything at Seton Hall University is excellent. The campus activities are well organized. The athletic center includes excercise machines, a pool, a basketball court. and there are many fields to play sports. The student center gives life to the university itself. It is the main place students gather be it after class or to relax or even grab something to eat. There is a cafeteria, a living room, a starbucks, and the center is full of many places to hold events by organizations.

Favorite Things To Do

Clubs around campus will hold dances almost weekly in the University Center’s Main Lounge, which can be attended by anyone on campus. Resident Assistants hold programs daily to give students something to do at night, although the weekends are still time to make your own fun.

Students have been known to, among other things: sit in the Galleon Room all day and meet coeds, shoot pool in the Duffy Game Room, play video games in the Commuter Lounge/Greek Room, and/or play catch or try out a slip-and-slide on the Green. There is also a beach volleyball court outside of Boland Hall that will often draw crowds on hot afternoons in between classes. There are many programs run by the Student Activities Board that will also help you get away from it all. There are discounted pre-screenings for movies in New York City, cheap tickets to baseball games, and reduced prices at musicals and museums. The fraternities also sponsor charter buses stocked with kegs on trips to the city for several festivals and the Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Center.

Did You Know?

There is an auxiliary gym in the basement of the Richie Regan athletic center that is rarely used, an alternative to the busy blue field house.

The boys' and girls' locker rooms contain saunas that are open to anyone using the facilities.
