Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Part of your college education is being around people from different walks of life, and there is no place is better for that than at Seton Hall, one of the most diverse campuses in the country. The social scene is very trendy and fast-paced. The school is full of rich kids with all the money in the world to burn, and they normally burn it on clothes and bars. Seton Hall’s education is good depending upon your major. Business, nursing, computer science, and diplomacy are what make Seton Hall a Tier II school. The people you meet at SU and the friendships that you form make this school a community. With its small size, that community feels more like a family by the time you graduate.

Another good reason to attend Seton Hall is its proximity to New York City, which is an endless bank of great internships and potential jobs. The Career Center on campus works hard to obtain Seton Hall students positions in places like Wall Street. As the saying about NYC goes, if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. If you do come to Seton Hall, you should get involved with a group or organization. In high school, it may not have been cool to be in the Stock Market Club, but here, the kids who are in it might become future millionaires. Find something you like or something that aligns with your studies and get involved. Finally, balance work and play. Part of the professional world is based on people skills. If you are cramped up in the library the whole time, chances are, you do not have the best social skills. On the other hand, if you do not know where the library is by junior year, then you need to seriously rethink the whole college thing.

Shufly Is a Savior

Seton Hall's campus is so small that there is no need for transportation on campus. For off campus there are buses to take you local places or the train to take you to New York or anywhere. SHUfly is our savior because it's a shuttle that will take you most places in South Orange and on the weekend, further.

SHU Transportation

The SHU-Fly takes you all around South Orange, down to Rite-Aid, the train station, apartment buildings, Path Mark, and on the weekends Target and the Livingston Mall. It costs $1 on Pirate's gold per use. They run on the half hour, or hour sometimes, depending on the day/route.

At night, you can utilize the Safety vans through security. After 6pm until 3am they will drive you anywhere within a mile of campus. When you need to be picked up, you simply call security with the address.

None Needed

Seton Hall is a small campus. You don't need transportation at all. From end to end, it's about a 15 minute walk. However, SHU is a commuter school. Meaning most of the people who attend live off campus. So if you do have a vehicle, be prepared for the lack of parking day to day. It's best to arrive at least 30 minutes before your class to ensure you aren't late and you get a decent spot.
