College Prowler Take

In New Jersey, you have the ability to enjoy every season. The beauty of the whole ordeal is that by the time class breaks in May, it has not become too unbearably hot. If you think that you will be more comfortable going to school in Florida, you are missing out on the snowball fights during snow days. Yes, because Seton Hall caters to so many commuters, the threat of snow often cancels school. The campus is breathtaking in the late spring when the trees on the green begin to bloom. The green is the center of campus. When it is warm out, bring a blanket with you to school so you can join the hundreds who bask in the sun between classes.

You need to bring clothes that will work in any type of temperature, and when you first move into Boland Hall in August, you will understand what it feels like to be in a Dutch oven. Then, when winter rolls around, you would think that you were in Chicago. The cold wind whips through the campus forcing you to bundle up like the kid brother in A Christmas Story. Plan your trip to a house party well, because though it is cold outside, dancing bodies generate a lot of heat. Also, it is not a great idea to bring a jacket because someone else may leave with it, so plan accordingly.

The weather here is pretty seasonal. Crisp and a little nippy in the fall, hot in the summer, cold in the winter, and warm in the spring.

New Jersey weather is very strange. I would bring a lot of different clothing just in case, because the weather is always changing.

In the winter, the average temperatures are in the mid 20s to 30s with the occasional snowfall. Fall and spring are beautiful here. We have a long Indian summer in the fall, and it doesn’t really get cold until mid-November. The weather starts to get warm again in February. We actually had one day in January this year that was 70 degrees! I hate the cold, but I think the weather is tolerable here.
