Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

The overall experience at Shenandoah University is really refreshing. It makes students feel safe that they are on the right path to success in life. It also makes them feel comfortable and prepared enough for grad school once they graduate. Even though there are many schools out there in the world, many students enjoy SU because of the all-around connection they have with the teachers, students, and other staff members on campus.

SU prepares students for future careers in many areas and through many ways. Teachers constantly remind students what to expect in graduate school or things they need to remember for certain fields. SU, as a whole, helps prepare students by having job fairs. Shenandoah invites up to about 100 volunteers to come and talk about their job experiences. The volunteers explain to students what their college life was all about and how the transition is from college to the real world. Shenandoah is very unique because almost every student is there to work and study hard for a future career. The school isn't like many others, where students choose to attend because of parties or frats. SU seems like many of the students are there to meet new people and to expand their horizons.

All of the Professors Are Highly Qualified

The majority of the professors I've taken classes with have been highly qualified in their positions. Some are too smart for their own good that it's hard to understand them, however they are very helpful. Most of my teachers have connections also to many places. One of my lab professors was best friends with the Dean of Pharmacy which helped when I got him to write me a letter of recommendation.

Rain and Wind

Winchester weather is good depending on how you like the weather. It does have a lot of rain and we usually get about 1 or 2 big snow storms a year. It starts getting cold at the end of September and doesn't get warm until April. My professor from Britain said he enjoyed it.

Not to Much

The parties aren't too "hopping". There are the occasional good parties especially around Apple Blossom. Most of the good parties are at the sports houses which depends on what season it is for what parties will be thrown.
